Ana Luisa Vasquez de Espinal is a proud Dominican-Canadian mother and professional with a vocation to actively participate in the enrichment of the communities she and her loved ones are part of. She understands the priorities and pressing struggles in businesses and families’ lives because she herself has extensive and diverse firsthand experience with both.

In 2006, she concluded her law studies in the Dominican Republic, where she served as external legal counsel to the Dominican financial sector, advising and providing legal services to several leading banking institutions of the region at the time. In 2013, Ana Luisa was welcomed to Canada, where she soon had the opportunity to personally work with individuals and families across the GTA as a residential property consultant. It was in Canada that Ana envisioned a more direct involvement with her community and the people around her.

Since 2021, Mississauga has been home to Ana Luisa and her family, and she plans to keep it that way. As a resident of the city, she has come to know its neighbourhoods, families, businesses, and the everyday realities that shape life in Our City. Professionally, she continues to dedicate herself to residential property consulting, working closely with individuals and families as they navigate one of the most important decisions in their lives. Outside of her professional work, Ana Luisa also serves her community as a licensed Marriage Officer, a role that allows her to be present for some of the most meaningful moments in people’s lives.

Since 2013, she has been a prominent community and cultural leader within the Hispanic diaspora in Ontario, distinguished by her strong commitment to service, philanthropic leadership, and care for the wellbeing of others. As an example, Ana is the founder and current President of the Toronto Latino Lions Club, where humanitarian-oriented initiatives are developed and carried out under her leadership. She was also the first Hispanic-Latina to obtain a Marriage Officer Licence in Ontario, making her the fi rst Hispanic-Latina to officiate a marriage in our province.

In a more political sense, Ana is a member of the OCLE (Electoral Logistics Coordination Office), established by the Dominican JCE (Central Electoral Board) and functioning through the Dominican Embassy in Toronto, Ontario. In 2024, she volunteered to assist with logistics for the first voting centre for Dominicans abroad in Toronto for the Municipal and National, Presidential Elections of the Dominican Republic. This speaks to how important she believes it is to uphold democracy at all levels.

Given her personality and identity, past achievements, and life lessons, she has now decided it is time to take the next step in her never-ending adventure of making the world a better place to live. Ana wants residents of Mississauga to feel as proud of Our City as she is of being Canadian.
